E-ACT The Grange School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Safeguarding is about ensuring that everyone is safe from harm – safe from bullying, safe from potential abuse, safe from discrimination and harassment and that everyone feels safe in our environment. Child protection describes the policy and procedures specifically for those children who are at risk of serious harm or have been seriously harmed.
If you have any concerns about the welfare of yours or another child, please talk to any member of staff at the academy, or you can speak directly to a member of the school's safeguarding team.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and all school staff are thoroughly trained to protect pupils effectively. Every member of staff and volunteer undergoes comprehensive safeguarding checks upon joining the school. When concerns arise, staff know who to approach and are clear about the next steps to take.

Sexual Abuse within Schools: Child on Child Abuse, Sexual Violence and Harassment and Harmful Sexual Behaviour:
As a trust, and as a trust our stance is unequivocal: sexual violence and sexual harassment are entirely unacceptable, will not be tolerated, and are not inevitable aspects of growing up. Such behaviours will always be challenged and never normalised. We are steadfast in our commitment to fostering mutual respect through open and transparent practices, and we will address all concerns raised without hesitation.
Our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy provides clear guidance on recognising the signs of child-on-child abuse and harmful sexual behaviour, as well as outlining our response procedures. All relevant safeguarding policies can be accessed on the websites of individual academies.
Additionally, all pupils are taught the Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) curriculum as part of our proactive approach.
